Backpack Jammer
The Backpack jammers are designed to protect soldiers and law enforcement on foot patrol against radio controlled bombs (RCIEDs), or from terrorists identifying their exact location.
The Backpack jammer is highly portable complete with power supply and batteries and can be fitted with a range of plug-in Black Shadow jammer modules. The jammer modules operate from 20MHz to 3000MHz, although the most used bands are 20-500MHz HF/VHF/UHF radio handsets, GSM and 3G mobile telephone links.
The weight of each jammer plug in is just 4kg. The RF power of the Backpack jammer is limited for safety reasons however higher powers are available for Flightcase jammers.
In its basic form one jammer may be set to jam 20-500MHz or 500-1000 MHz or Satellite Phones, CDMA, PCS, 
GSM, UMTS, 3G, WiiFi and WiMax bands. Each frequency band offers the option of blanket jamming or targeted. The Backpack is supplied with highly efficient Omni directional antennas to maximize the jamming area in different scenarios. A Digital RF Threat Detector can be provided to sense the presence of HF/VHF/UHF radio handsets, or CDMA/GSM mobile telephones, and automatically turn on the jammer to target the threat frequencies. The Threat Detector conserves the battery life as the jammer only powers up on when registering a threat. The detector can be manually/remotely overridden.
